Job Title: Web Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary
Provide vision, leadership and management to the web team, which consists of content coordinators, designers and developers, and oversee coordination with related media areas.
Job Description
  • Build and maintain a web strategy and production schedule that supports JMM’s vision and mission, investigating emerging technologies, performing competitive analysis, and defining and developing online initiatives
  • Lead the full life cycle of website and web application development to ensure robust use of best-in-class methodology and tools, including information architecture, navigation schemas, content management and search engine optimization; communicate and coordinate plans, risks, and status to business clients and supporting IT functions
  • Responsible for management, oversight and periodic review of a web team, training and mentoring of team members
  • Ensure the user web experience fully supports the brand positioning and marketing goals
  • Ensure that proper work-flow processes are followed and maintained for all existing programs, production changes and future development efforts; ensure proper coding, style and design standards are employed
  • Manage, direct and develop the initiatives and the team required to support online efforts
  • Manage budgets for staff, application infrastructure expenses, and software expenditures; manage contractor/vendor budgets and monitor contractor performance
  • Manage cooperative relationships across business functions with respect to systems, projects, processes, teams and external partners
  • Responsible for the research, strategy, site envisioning, planning, requirements, user experience, web design and web development
  • Accountable for measuring and reporting results against business objectives and media strategy
  • Work closely with executives to oversee and prioritize the web portfolio
  • Investigate and execute new projects as technologies and mediums emerge
  • Report to Marketing Director
Job Requirements
  • Web development leadership, project management skills, and experience with large-scale web development preferable in the nonprofit or business-to-consumer space
  • eCommerce and/or marketing experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to motivate staff to be excellent and foster a creative, open and encouraging environment
  • Detail-oriented, yet maintain the ability to think strategically, including synthesizing large volumes of data into concise, well presented recommendations
  • Must be solution-oriented, a highly motivated self-starter
  • Possess strong written and verbal skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate about technical matters in layman’s terms with clearly articulate thoughts, vision and direction
  • Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals and manage expectations
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design and web programming techniques
  • Must have a passion for the web and its capabilities to empower, and be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain relevance with trends, technology and online media culture
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
