Children's Homes

More Than You Can Imagine

Even before she turned one year old, Sreypov’s life took a desperate turn. Her mother died, leaving her solely in the care of her father. Eventually, Sreypov’s father remarried…which turned out to be the worst thing that could have happened.

Sreypov lives in the village of Khnatom. It is an extremely poor community in rural Cambodia where they are known for making beautiful silk. But they are also known for something else.

Like many places in Cambodia, they don’t believe in blended families. In fact, when people remarry, they many times abandon their own children, desiring to completely start over. And those who aren’t completely abandoned often end up like Sreypov.

Sreypov’s father and new wife kept her. But here, in this house, she was no longer considered a precious daughter. Here, she became their slave.

Investing in the Lives of Children
It is children like Sreypov that drive Joyce Meyer Ministries to invest more and more into the children of Cambodia and around the world. That’s one of the reasons we took a giant step to reach so many in need this past summer through Hope Cambodia: 30 Days of Hope.

During this outreach, we dedicated 15 new Hope Centers. We designed these Hope Centers to:

  • Feed, care for, educate, clothe, encourage and spiritually transform hundreds of children
  • Serve as havens where children can come and interact with one another
  • Function as places of worship for families

Best of all, 10 of these Hope Centers will actually serve as children’s homes.

Many Children Become Prey to the Unthinkable

In Cambodia, child labor is the norm. Even the youngest children work hard to try to help feed their family. Still, many families can’t survive. And as families starve, it’s not uncommon for parents to sell their own children.

Human trafficking is one of the largest smuggling businesses in the world. It generates 10 to 12 billion dollars a year. And every minute, two children are being prepared for sexual exploitation.

“There are more than 1 million girls in the industry worldwide right now,” says David Meyer, CEO of Hand of Hope, Joyce Meyer Ministries World Missions. “And one of our greatest desires is to do everything we can to rescue some of these girls.”

The Difference Your Support Makes
Your support in countries like Cambodia means that we can reach hundreds of children at risk in some of the poorest and most dangerous areas.

In fact, your support has made it possible to provide a fresh start for more than a thousand children in Asia through our 49 children’s homes we fully fund and operate in India, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal and Myanmar.

You may never truly know what you mean to each one of these boys and girls. But to them you are more than you can imagine…you are the one who rescued them and gave them a whole new life. Thank you for your incredible support, which is saving and changing lives all across Asia.
